RUPERT BROOKE, English poet was born on this date (d. 1915); An English poet known for his idealistic War Sonnets written during WWI (especially The Soldier), as well as for his poetry written outside of war, especially The Old Vicarage, Grantchester and The Great Lover. He was also known for his boyish good looks, which prompted W.B. Yeats to describe him as “the handsomest young man in England”. Rupert Brooke was the “favorite poet” of the characters in the movie with Michael Ontkean and Kate Jackson –“Making Love” He went off with the “gay fellow” who went on to star in LA Law and she had a son with the second husband and named the boy…Rupert.
