Born in Michigan, David began his film career at age 19 after moving to Los Angeles and began working in Warner Bros.’ story department. He became story editor for Kings Road Productions in Los Angeles, then joined Edward S. Feldman Productions as head of creative affairs in 1982.
In 1984, he co-produced the films “Witness” and “Explorers” with Feldman. The next year, he produced the action thriller “The Hitchhiker” with Kip Ohman.
As an independent producer he developed motion picture properties for Walt Disney Productions and in 1986 joined Geffen, where he oversaw production of the hit film “Beetlejuice.” David died at the age of 36 in Los Angeles of complications from AIDS.”
