The Navy announced that it would re-open the investigation of an explosion on the USS Iowa. They originally blamed the explosion on CLAYTON HARTWIG, saying he was gay and upset over the break-up of his relationship with his boyfriend. They stated that Hartwig caused the explosion to commit suicide and take with him the lives of as many others as possible. There was no evidence that he was gay and eventually the incident was ruled an accident.
